The Mark A. Davis Family in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania

2008 Virginia Beach Family Adventure

We'll be staying at the Seaside Serenade, 2748 Sandfiddler Rd.  This is NOT the same house as last time.  It has an additional bedroom, though it appears that some areas such as the dining room and pool might actually be a little smaller.

The property has

  • 10 bedrooms
  • 8.5 bathrooms
  • Pool with spa
  • Big screen TV
  • wireless internet
  • DVD player
  • Tiki Bar
  • Grill
  • Two separate living areas

Update 6/8/08 - I went on the website for the house this morning and it states "Enlarged pool for 2008".  The pictures are still of the old smaller pool.

Families

Here are the families that are coming and the number of bedrooms for each family

  • Sue & Byron Berkowitz (1)
  • Mark & Jeanne Davis, Kelsey, Greg & Ty (1, 1/2,  & 2/3)
  • John & Jeri Phillips, Jenna & Justin (1, 1/4, & 1/3)
  • Dave & Beverly Phillips, Martha, Margarette, and Clara (1, 2/4)
  • Patty & Dave Lindsey, Reilly, Taylor (1)
  • Dianne & Riki Young, Alison and Erika (1, 1/2, & 1/4)
  • Brian & Susie Davis, Jessica, Lillian (1)
  • Debi Brown - included above

That's a total of 10 bedrooms

Cost per bedroom: $1020.34

Cost per family: $26.43 includes processing fees, and damage waiver insurance

Events

The house comes with a membership to Hell's Point Golf Club.  They rent clubs, so we're thinking of a golf outing for those who are interested, perhaps on Monday depending on the weather.  Green's fees are steep at $57-$65 plus the rental.  I believe Riki called and there is a slightly reduced fee because of the membership.

Food

Food cost (Updated 6/8/08):  See chart at right.  Just like last time, we'll refund any leftover funds at the end of the vacation.  This is a significant cost increase based on our recent food cost experience.

Restaurant Nights

  • Saturday Night - Pizza Night (cost included)
  • Tuesday Night - Chinese Buffet (cost not included)
  • Thursday Night - On your own.  Boardwalk night (cost not included)

Menu

Please send your requests prior to the trip.  Jeanne and I will be doing the shopping before everyone gets there, so we need to know what you want in advance.  Pay special attention to choice of cereals - we'd appreciate knowing your preferences.
