2010 Planning - Memorial Day Campout
Planning is underway for the 2010 40th
annual Phillips Family
Memorial Day Camping Trip at World's
End State Park. Campout dates are Thursday,
May
27th through Monday, May 31st, 2010.
There is a chance that some of us might go up on Wednesday May 26th. Let us know if you are interested in doing that. We've reserved several of the sites for Wednesday (not on purpose) and we're thinking this might help avoid the problem we had last year with someone being on our primary site.
We also have heard from Marlene Threet that they might be interested in camping with us this year and we are really looking forward to this. Kristen and Matt Houtz are definite for part of the weekend
I'll be doing the food planning and will be handling the kitchen. I'll entertain any suggestions for changes or additions to the menu.
Schedule
The chart below shows each family, the schedule I'm currently assuming, and the number of people. It also shows the amount you owe for food. I counted adults as one and kids under twelve as half, and didn't count babies. See the Site Assignments for site cost. Blue shading indicates that payment has been received. Green shading indicates that you've confirmed when you will be at camp.
There are two tables below. The first shows the meals you are planning on eating at camp and the second shows your share of the site cost plus your meal cost. If you've overpaid I'll refund at camp. If you've underpaid then you do the dishes the entire weekend. Payments due by May 13th

The cost table below will be completed once people let me know what their plans are. If you don't have a site cost indicated, its because others on your site have not told me their intentions. If you don't have a food cost indicated, then you need to send me an email telling me of your plans.

Site Assignments
Our site assignment strategy is shown below the chart. I've moved some folks around to try to accommodate families with small children to be closer to the restrooms. Here is a site map so you can see where these sites are. WorldsEnd Site Map. 15-19 are near the road, 39-40 are across street, and 20-12 are by the restrooms

The chart above shows the site you've been assigned to and the cost. In some cases you need to pay for extra nights just to reserve the site. While we can change the reservations now that we are more sure of people's schedules, there is a $10 fee to change the reservations and it hardly seems worth it given our experience with Pennsylvania's habit of making errors whenever we contact them.
Because we are required to have each site in a different name, we just use any name for any site in doing the reservations. The name on the site reservation is different from the people who will actually be using the site in most cases. They haven't checked this in the past, so its not an issue.
Site assignments are based on equipment. Mark, John and Patty are planning to use their popups with electric and were assigned these sites.
